This past weekend June 25th -27th, was the inaugural TTMD 10-Ball Open Championship held in Front, Royal VA at On Cue Sports Bar and Grill.
We would like to thank everyone that participated in the TTMD Billiards Streaming 10-Ball Open Championship, our volunteers were incredible, the On Cue Sports Bar and Grill event staff were phenomenal, and the players– pro and amateur alike were having a wonderful time competing and socializing with each other.
As we reflect on the event we are feeling confident we are on the right track.
The races are a bit long for some, however, this tournament is meant to demand more of the athletes, and to establish an undisputed 10-Ball Champion. With races to 9 in the double-elimination phase, then races to 11 in the round of 16, followed by a race to 13 in the final, it would be hard to argue the winner did not earn the title.
Congratulations to James Aranas, he will forever be the very first TTMD Billiards Streaming 10-Ball Open Champion.
As we plan for next year, you can be sure we will be addressing areas that we feel need some work. The match scheduled times for day 1 were off and we have made a note and will adjust accordingly. We would like to thank everyone for their patience as we adapted to the situation. From a production side, we had many planned videos and flyers we wanted to air, however, the match schedule being behind created some difficulties maintaining the plan. We had scheduled to bring additional personalities and players into the booth but, the limited space available for the broadcast equipment would not accommodate dual commentary. Given the scale of the event for a first-time run, we did very well and we will continue to improve.
We endeavor to make this a featured event and destination that will make its way onto the player’s calendar each year. There is much to experience in this historical area, including site seeing, hiking, fishing, and rafting, to name a few– an outdoor person’s paradise. As the event grows in popularity we are hopeful players will plan ahead to take advantage of what the area has to offer.
After speaking with many, we believe we can declare the inaugural TTMD Billiards Streaming 10-Ball Championship a success.
Please enjoy the photos from the tournament courtesy of our TTMD Billiards Streaming team of volunteers.
